The Ultimate Maya Hotspot

Why you need to go

The Maya people figured out the stars, invented two calendars, had a sophisticated way or writing, launched what is possibly the world’s first iteration of soccer, brought us chocolate and lived in peace with nature.

What’s waiting for you there?

Tikal was a major pre-Columbian political, economic and military center. Today the site shows the remains of a ceremonial centre, made up of impressive architecture: temples, palaces, public squares, residences, ball-game courts, roads, squares and ramps can be traced back in history.

What you won’t forget

The moment you see the Maya ruins peaking atop the jungle when you’re approaching Tikal. It’s a powerful and magical sight.
